JUNO WEEK UPDATE!

JUNO WEEK UPDATE

This week is Juno week. The Juno’s are the Canadian version of the Grammy’s and Brit Awards. They celebrate the diverse talent that is in the Canadian music industry. Hex Entertainment joined The Ottawa Sound on an adventure through Algonquin College to ask some people their opinions on the Juno Awards!

1.       What Canadian artist do you think had/has the most influence on the global music industry
a.       The most common answers for this question for this question were Justin Bieber and Drake with The Weeknd thrown in once or twice. The bassist from local band BATAVIA (Hakan who is from Istanbul, Turkey) said Devin Townsend.
2.       What Canadian artist do you think has the most influence INSIDE Canada?
a.       A lot of people thought hard about this but couldn’t think of any artists. Hakan said Devin Townsend for this one as well.
3.       Who is your pick for Fan Choice?
a.       A lot of people thought hard about their choices for this and just gave out the usual Justin Bieber and Drake. Some people just said they had no idea.
4.       Did you watch the 2016 Juno Awards?
a.       Most people said no. There were one or two people who said yes.
5.       Will you be watching the 2017 Juno Awards, which are being held in Ottawa this year?
a.       The majority of people said they would not be watching the Juno’s this year because they don’t care about award shows. Some people asked if there would be a live stream on Facebook or YouTube. The answer to that is; Possibly.

The Juno Awards are being held in Ottawa this year and are on at 6:00pm Sunday, April 2nd. You should watch and check out the winners of some of the awards. Who knows, maybe your favourite artist will win in their category. A YouTube video will be posted by Saturday on The Ottawa Sound and Hex Entertainment YT channels.
